Shadows of the Light: Ressurection

[Rei finds himself drifting in a void of darkness]

Rei: where am I?

[from no where an ominous voice speaks to Rei]

Ominous voice: You are dead.

Rei: What!? [suddenly the memory of everything that just happened comes back to Rei] The car! Naomi!

Ominous voice: Yes, you saved that girl but in the process you lost your own life.

Rei: atleast she's okay. So this is what its like to be dead?

Ominous voice: Aren't you upset? Don't you regret what you did?

Rei: Why should I regret it? I saved Naomi's life and that's all that matters.

Ominous voice: You gave your life to save her and have no regrets for it? I have heard few say such a noble thing. I'll let you see the world you left one last time.

[A ring of light opens up in front of Rei and through it he can see the school parking lot. His body is lying on top of the road and Osaku is out of the car]

Naomi:[crying] No! Rei!

Osaku: Hahaha! That'll teach him. Now it's time for you to pay.

[Osaku pulls out a switch blade]

Rei: No! I have to stop him!

[suddenly a strange symbol appears at Rei's feet. It appears to be three connected triangles inside a pentagram. Then Rei's body is engulfed in light and he is sucked through the ring into his corpse]

Naomi: Please, Osaku don't.

Osaku: Nobody dumps me! Nobody!!

[Osaku brings down his blade to stab Naomi but his hand is caught by Rei]

Osaku: What, but you're dead!

Rei: Was dead.

[In one fluid motion Rei disarms Osaku and kicks him sending him flying inot his car and knocking Osaku unconscious]

Rei: How did i do... Naomi!

[Naomi is lying on the ground, she fainted]

Rei:(to himself)I better get her back to my place. This is gonna be a tough one to explain.

Later at Rei's house

[Naomi wakes up and sees Rei standing over her]

Naomi: What happened? Where am I?

Rei: You passed out. You're at my place.

Naomi: I had the strangest dream.

Rei: (to himself: Dream... that'll work) When I came outside you we're lying in the grass so I brought you back here.

Naomi:Okay, well it's getting late so I'm gonna go home. See ya!

Rei: Bye.

[Naomi leaves and Rei is alone]

Rei: that was a close one. But how did I come back to life? And where did this amazing strength and speed come from?

[from no where the ominous voice speaks]

Ominous voice: You saw that the girl was in danger and your need to rescue her awakened a power deep within you. It was that power that ressurected you and gave you your strength and speed.

Rei: But i don't know how to control this new power. I could hurt someone by accident.

Ominous voice: There was once a great warrior named Himoura. If you can find him he may be able to help. I must go now.

Rei: Wait. Who or What are you?

[there is no response]

Rei: Oh well, looks like things around here are gonna get interesting.

The next day at school

Naomi: Hey Rei!

Rei: Oh, hi how are you feeling?

Naomi: Fine you?

Rei: I'm good. Nothing bad happened to me.

Naomi: Right. (to herself)I'll keep pretending if you're going to.

Rei: Hey have you ever heard of a man named Himoura who lives around here?

Naomi:Not that i can think of... but I've heard of a guy called Old Himo who lives somewhere downtown.

Rei: I need to find him. Will you help me look for him after school?

Naomi: Sure, I'd be happy to.

Rei: Thanks, I'll see you later then.

Naomi: Okay, bye.
